Google Chrome Strips Anchor Information From URLs in Windows 10

In Windows 10, Google Chrome strips anchor information from URLs when clicking through from any application. As an example, let’s say we receive an email using Outlook … and the email contains the following link:

https://www.irangers.com/#contact

If we click on this link from within the email, we get taken directly to:

https://www.irangers.com

This happens for all links containing anchor information.

As one of the solutions in this situation is to delete the “DelegateExecute” entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\ChromeHTML\shell\open\comman.

It could be easily done by executing the following command:

REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\ChromeHTML\shell\open\command /v DelegateExecute /f
